so i owned a 75 swallow for about a 1 1/2 years, gonna tell you a little story bout this car and what i have been through since. i got a really good friend of mine in to vw's by selling her my firsy bunny project, nothing special. 81' rabbit 4dr slammed on the ground, rims, short shift, etc. sold it to her for $800(homey hookup). she had that car for a while i moved to pheonix area, then moved back bout 1 year later. rollin in the same car i sold her with her drivin he t-bone someon doin bout 45-50(they ran the light) well 20,000 in hospital bills later i am out of the hospital and she splits town to medford oregan. she calls me bout six monthes later braggin bout how she finally got another bunny. i said"whay year?" well it was a 75 i was jealous. well she got for $200 and it ran and drove great she drove it back home to seattlethree or four times before it finally "died" in her driveway. that was my oppurtunity to swoop in. took me about 3 monthes of hounding but i finally got to come down there and get it. drove down there hopin i could get it runnin so me and two buddies of mine go down and party hard till 6am and i got up 2 hours later to work on the car. lots of bets where made that night on whether i could get this thing runnin or not(bout $400) so i told my friend if i got it running she could keep the money i made from the bets and the original asking price(oh yea the original asking price was a cd player for her new vw which i paid less then $50) so its 8 in the mornin and i go to the fridge and grab a beer and walk outside. its about 100 degrees and i am drunk this sucks , two hours later and a 6 pack i start her up and drive around the block ;D .
drove it back to seattle and there i drove it for about 1 year and decided i was goin to fuel inject and turbo charge it that took to much time and way to much money, me and my girl broke up, lost my house, garage and had to get rid of everything. sold the shell with all new wiring, tank, rubbers, windows, smoothed engine bay, rust free, no damage( no bondo, i did all the sanding), sealed and primed waiting for paint. for ........$350 well i see it now and again it is at my friends house, he hasn't done anything to it yet, and he won't sell it back to me either. to make things worse a buddy of mine called me, he works at the junkyard, he said a straight bodied 75 came in, drove down there as fast as i could, and didn't make it fast enough. THEY CRUSHED IT!!! not before my buddy got the smoothie hood, mirrors, andemblems well i went and got a 91 corrado to drown my sorrows and hopefully i can find another one soon. thanks for reading.
